Cocke County Sheriff’s Office Continues War On Drugs

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office continued their war on drugs in the county this morning. Not a lot of information is available at this time, but this morning, the Sheriff’s office along with the assistance of the Newport Police department served a narcotic search warrant at a home in the 1900 block of Hartford Road as part of what they are calling “Operation Open Gate”. Much drug activity has been reported at that address. Taken into custody this morning were Johnny Gunter and Alice Ottinger. The sheriff’s office says this is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released when they complete their investigation.

The warrant served this morning comes on the heels of the sheriff’s office, Newport police and the ATF conducting a raid on a home in Cosby off Dark Hollow Road on Brisk Way. Four people were arrested in that case and over 125 grams of methamphetamine was seized.
