Operation Christmas Child Accepting Donations
As we draw closer to the holidays, Samaritan’s Purse has began their annual “Operation Christmas Child” fundraiser. With “Operation Christmas Child”, various churches and other organizations accept donations of things like toys, school supplies, personal care items and even things like gloves and stocking caps. These items are then packed in shoeboxes that are then wrapped and distributed to needy children. Throughout the project’s National Collection Week, area shoebox donors get to contribute to the 2023 global goal of reaching 11 million children. Operation Christmas Child has been collecting and delivering shoebox gifts to children worldwide for three decades, delivering more than 209 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories. That includes needy kids right here in East Tennessee.
