Police Respond To Children Screaming

Police responded tom the 700 block of 8th street Thursday afternoon on a report of children screaming. Newport officer Eli Suggs arrived and heard no children screaming. After looking around the area Suggs returned to the original area and came across the reported caller, 30 year old Tasha Morris. She told Officer Suggs she could hear the children screaming again and pointed in various directions of where the sounds were coming from. The officer then asked a neighbor that was in their front yard if they heard children screaming, to which they simply replied…”no”. Tasha Morris admitted that she had been doing meth and that she had been up for about two days. Morris was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.
