Man Walks Out With Over $200 Of Merchandise

Police are looking for a suspect in a theft at Wal-Mart in Newport that happened over the weekend. Loss prevention at Wal-Mart told Newport police that a black male between the ages of 35 and 50 loaded a shopping cart full of merchandise worth over $200. the man then went through the self checkout and rang up all the items. He then used an EBT card to pay for them, but the card was declined. The man then simply pushed the cart full of items out of the store without using an alternate method of payment. The man was then spotted getting into a blue car with a damage to the left front end.
