Couple Receives Threatening Note

An Employee at Food City West in Newport was the victim of a threatening card received in the mail. The victim and her husband said they got the card in the mail Friday. The card stated that no one in the area liked them and that they should sell there house because it would be better for them if they moved. The card also called them “northern people” and used a derogatory term in describing them. The person who wrote the card also threatened the victim further by saying that someone would hit her in the head with a can of corn. Police do not know at this time who sent the threatening note, but the victims did point our that in the past, they had a problem with one of their neighbors.
