Tennessee Still Undefeated In College World Series
The Tennessee Vols have entered foreign territory. A win against the North Carolina Tar Heels Sunday night has Tennessee sitting at 2-0 in the College World Series, the first time that has ever happened in program history. Once again the Vols powered their way to a win, 6-1 over North Carolina. However, there was a loss in the game. Starting centerfielder, Hunter Ensley injured his hip when he crashed into the wall catching a flyball in the second inning. Ensley would be replaced in the fifth inning by Colby Backus. Tony Vitello says Ensley is considered day to day. The win makes Tennessee 57-12 on the year.
So what is next for the Vols? Since they won, they get a couple days off as they will play in the bracket one final on Wednesday. Tennessee will play either North Carolina or Florida State. Those two teams will play in an elimination game on Tuesday. Tennessee is just one win away from advancing to the best of three final series for the College World Series championship.
