Attempted Break-In Tuesday

Newport police were called to a Newport Housing Authority residence Tuesday evening after the tenant found signs of an attempted break-in. Briana Franklin showed police damage on her back door near the lock where it appeared someone had tried to break in. There were also corners of a back window that had been tampered with as if someone was trying to gain entry into the home. Newport Housing Authority was advised of the situation, but there are no suspects in that attempted break-in.
