BCSO Arrests Student For Posting School Shooting Threat

One day after Cocke County authorities arrested a 13 year old girl for making a threat of violence at Cocke County schools…police in Blount County made a similar arrest regarding a threat made against a school there. Police say a 14 year old boy who attends Eagleton College and Career Academy made a threat of mass violence against the school on social media. Authorities descended on the school around 7am Thursday morning after the threat was seen. Police secured the school and took the students to a safe area. Before 9am, police arrested a 14 year old who posted the threat. They also arrested a 13 year old who knew about the threat but did not report it. Police say neither of the two involved had access to weapons at their homes. Both juveniles are awaiting an appearance in juvenile court.

This makes the third school shooting threat in the last 10 days in East Tennessee.
