Brothers Arrested For Murder In Carter County
A story out of Carter County in Northeast Tennessee. Two brothers have been arrested and are being charged with murder…of their father. According to an investigation by the Carter County Sheriff’s office, 31 year old Jacob Hitchcock and his brother 25 year old Joshua allegedly planned the murder of their father after they learned he was making plans to sell a home the rothers would have inherited. Bill Hitchcock, Jr.’s body was found in a driveway on April 1st by a group of fisherman who happened to be passing by.
According to investigators Joshua Hitchcock texted his brother in late March saying that he was going to start carrying his gun and “drive by him when I get the chance”. Than chance came on March 31st as investigators say that Joshua got a text from his brother saying the house had gone under contract. Joshua then rode his motorcycle to his father’s house and shot him in the driveway. Both men are charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit first degree murder. Jacob Hitchcock is also charged with tampering with evidence. His wife, Brittney, is also charged in the case with false report as she told investigators that her husband had been home all day on March 31st…the day Bill Hitchcock was murdered. All three are currently out on bond.
