Construction For Tennessee Smokies Knoxville Stadium To Begin
Construction will officially begin on Monday for a stadium in Knoxville that will house the Tennessee Smokies baseball team. Crews will begin a project to relocate water and sewer lines in that area of downtown Knoxville on May 2 starting the construction of an $80 million facility that will also host concerts and other events. The stadium was to be completed in time for the Smokies’ 2024 season, however due to supply chain issues and a volatile construction market, the Smokies will not move into the new stdium until the 2025 season. Until then, the Tennessee Smokies will continue to play their home games at Smokies Stadium in Kodak where they have been for the last 22 years.
