Convenient Store Killing Case To Move Forward
The case in Johnson City charging a father and son with the killing of a convenient store clerk will move forward. 41 year old Mark Anthony Sexton, Jr. and 18 year old Mark Anthony Sexton III were in a Washington County courtroom this morning. Prosecutors laid out evidence against the two before a judge that they entered a Roadrunner Market on Friday June 2 and robbed they store and shot and killed the clerk, 23 year old Tava Johnson. A police investigator provided testimony that on the store’s surveillance vide, Mark Sexton III could be seen after the robbery walking back into the store, pointed the gun at Tava Johnson’s face, aimed down the sights and pulled the trigger. The judge found probable cause for the case to move forward. The Sextons are due to appear in court again on October 2. Their bond is still $1 million.
