Crime Victim Rights Ceremony Set For Friday
This Friday (4/4) District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn’s office will be hosting the National Crime Victims’ Rights Ceremony. The ceremony honors the memory of those that have been victims of violent crimes and remembers those whose lives have been touched by violent crime. The DA’s office says if you want to attend the ceremony, they encourage you to wear purple. That color represents awareness of the issues associated with violent crime and lets survivors know they are not alone. Purple is also a symbol of peace, courage and survival. Those who have a loved one that has been a victim of violent crime are asked to bring a photo of that loved one with you, as there will be a table set up for those photos. The National Crime Victims’ Rights Ceremony will be this Friday morning at 11am on the lawn of the Cocke County Courthouse.
