Employee Of Morristown Company Victim Of Direct Deposit Fraud

Lakeway Publishers in Morristown told police this week that one of their employees had been the victim of fraud. Kim Wilaniskis stated on August 30th, she received an email from who she believed to be her employee, Jessica Greene who wished to have her direct deposit changed into a different account. Wiliniskis stated that nothing seemed to be odd so they changed the direct deposit information. However last week when payroll came out Greene notified Wiliniskis that she had not received her pay nor had she requested her direct deposit information to be changed. Ms. Wiliniskis stated that the unknown emailer had the money sent to Greendot Bank in Chattanooga. Jessica Greene’s identity had been fraudulently used to change her account by the individual criminally impersonating her. The case in under investigation.
