Flood Victims May Qualify For Homeowner Grant

On April 10 those homeowners that were affected by the September 27 flood can learn how they can apply for a Home Rehabilitation Grant. There will be a meeting Thursday night at The Cocke County Courthouse that will allow homeowners to ask questions, get answers, learn how to apply for the grant and schedule a time for a personal appointment to find if you are eleigible.

Homeowners have to meet certain criteria to apply for the grant. That includes meeting low-to-moderate income requirements; Proof that you own the home and the land it is located on; the homeowner has to have lived in the home for a period of at least one year; the home has to be located in Cocke County and the property taxes have to be paid to date; finally, the home has to have been damaged from the flooding caused by Hurricane Helene.

The meeting is Thursday night, April 10, at 6:30pm at the Cocke County Courthouse.
