Food City Encounters Fake $100 Bill

Policed responded Sunday to Food City West in Newport about a man trying to pass a counterfeit $100 bill. Management at Food City stated a black male had come into the store around 11:30am and tried to pay for groceries with a $100 bill that was fake. After being turned down for having a fake $100 bill, the male walked out of the store and got into a black late model Chevrolet Malibu with two black females and another black male. The vehicle then headed west on roadway. Not sure is the cases are related, but earlier Sunday morning a black male paid for $10 of merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill. That male subject then left in what was descried as a black sedan.
