Four Indicted In Monroe County Killing Of 2- Year Old

Four men have been indicted by a grand jury in Monroe County for their part in a shooting that wound up in the death of a two year old child in Sweetwater. Indicted were Liu Huerta, Itzhui Huerta, Francisco Lagunas Jr., and Malachi Franklin. All together the grand jury indicted them on 36 counts. Those counts include conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, two counts of felony murder, three counts of attempted first degree murder, attempted especially aggravated burglary and reckless endangerment. You might remember this case that happened back on February 14th when several men showed up to a mobile home in Sweetwater. Gunfire erupted and two year old Alayna Butts was shot. She died three days later on February 17th. Also killed in that shooting was one of the gunmen, Lenning Huerta. He is believed to be the one who shot Alayna Butts before someone in the mobile home shot back and killed him. All four men indicted will be arraigned in Monroe County court on June 24th.
