Free fishing Day Saturday June 11
Free Fishing Day is coming up this weekend. This Saturday, June 11th, anyone can fish for free on Tennessee waters..meaning you will not need a license.
Each year, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has a day where you can fish without a license in an effort to increase the interest in fishing. Also children ages 15 and younger can fish without a license beginning on Free Fishing Day this Saturday and continuing through the following Friday, June 17.
The TWRA reminds you that Free Fishing Day and Free Fishing Week apply to Tennessee’s public waters only. That includes TWRA owned and operated lakes, plus state park facilities. Some privately owned lakes and ponds may still charge for fishing.
A list of events being planned for Free Fishing Day can be found at www.tnwildlife.org.
