Greene County Infant Dead After Dog Bite

An infant is dead in Greene County. According to a release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a four day old baby is dead after being bitten by a dog. The sheriff’s press release says that the baby was taken to the Greeneville Community Hospital around 10:30am Monday morning, May 13. The baby was then flown to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, which is where the baby died from its injuries. The infant’s body has been sent to the Knoxville Forensics Center for an autopsy. Sheriff Wesley Holt says no further information is being released at this time, but the baby’s death is under investigation.
