Illinois Man Officially Charged In Stampede Parking Lot Shooting
Police in Pigeon Forge say an Illinois man has now been charged in the shooting death of another man in the parking lot of Dolly Parton’s Stampede over the weekend. Police were called around 7:35pm Saturday night to the Stampede parking lot and found two men inside a car with one of them deceased from a gunshot wound.
24 year old Evan Cogdill of Marissa, IL told police that he had a handgun that accidentally discharged, striking 22 year old Jacob Inselmann. Inselmann, from Steelville, IL, would later die at the LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville. On Monday, police officially charged Cogdill with Criminally Negligent Homicide. Police say they are still investigating that shooting.
