Jefferson County Schools Investigate School Shooting Threat
On the heels of that awful school shooting in Georgia last week, on Monday, school administrators and school resource officers in Jefferson County investigated a school shooting threat. The threat stated that there would be a shooting at two Jefferson County schools on Tuesday, September 10. The threat was posted Monday on Tik Tok. Chief Tim Carter of the School Safety Division and Special Agent Cliff Thompson of the Tennessee Department of Homeland Security located the source of that post around 9:00 pm Monday night. Their investigation found the threat was a hoax fabricated by a juvenile. The findings of their investigation are being sent to the District Attorney’s office to determine what charges could be filed against that juvenile.
