Jury Duty Scam In Cocke County

A scam to alert you to that is happening in Cocke County. The sheriff’s department says that someone is using the name of sheriff’s department employee Chuck Evans and is calling residents about jury duty. The caller will say they are Chuck Evans from the sheriff’s department and that you missed a jury duty summons and you could be arrested unless you pay a fine…which includes the purchase of gift cards. This is a scam and you should simply hang up. This is a scam that has targeted other areas of the country with other names of local law enforcement.
