Man charged In Death Of Greene County Teen

A Greene County man is now in custody in association with the death of a Greene County teenager last December. 16-year-old Danielle Owens has been reported missing by her family on Nov. 17 and was reportedly last seen on Dec. 11. Her body was found in a field on Doughtys Chapel Road outside Greeneville in early February. Last week a Greene County Grand Jury indicted 32 year old David Dabbs of Greeneville in connection with her death. Dabbs is charged with criminally negligent homicide, aggravated statutory rape, aggravated assault, false reporting, and contributing to the unruly conduct of a child. The TBI assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s office in that investigation. Details regarding Owens’ death have not been released. A court date for Dabbs is pending.
