Man Found Dead At Gatlinburg Skylift Park
Gatlinburg police are investigating the death of a man found at the Gatlinburg Skylift Park Saturday night. Gatlinburg Fire and Rescue along with the Pigeon Forge Fire Department responded to the Skylift Park at 11:06 Saturday night where they found the body of a man under the SkyBridge. The park was closed at the time, and authorities believe the man climbed over the locked gate and barrier at the Bridge’s entrance and they are investigating the man’s death as an apparent suicide. The Skylift Park reopened on Sunday.
Last month a woman from LaVergne, TN committed suicide in Gatlinburg when she jumped to her death from the chair lift at Anakeesta. The woman did so while the lift was in operation during a busy time.
