Man Victim Of Theft

A man called police Saturday afternoon reporting a theft at the Food City West in Newport. The 24 year old victim stated he had left two trash bags full of approximately $200 in clothing and a lunch box that contained several keys and cash laying between the vending machines and propane cages out front while he went into the store to make a purchase. When he went back out, his bags were gone. Security footage showed a woman in a blue hoodie and dark pants placing the bags in a shopping cart and pushing the cart around to the back of the building, then through the grassy area next to it. She was seen with a male in a white hoodie in the footage but the man could not be identified. The woman was recognized by Food City management as someone who had been in the store before. That woman was eventually ID’d as 32 year old Misty Heitz. No arrests have been made in that case.
