Man With Warrant In Blount County Arrested in Newport

A traffic stop in Newport resulted in the arrest of a man wanted in another county. Police pulled over a 1995 white Ford Crown Victoria with expired tags on Tuesday. The drive was 40 year old Timothy Long. A check on Long revealed that he was wanted on an active warrant in Blount County. Police in Blount County were advised of Timothy Long’s apprehension and advised they would extradite him back to Blount County.
