Morristown Men Arrested For Assaulting Their Father

Morristown police early Thursday responded to an address on Court Ave. about a fight in progress. 52 year old Randy Helton stated to police that he had gotten into a confrontation with his two sons, 23 year old Christopher Helton and 25 year old Randy Austin Helton. Witnesses stated that the older Helton’s verbal spat with his sons turned physical with the sons assaulting their father giving the elder Helton a bloody lip. Witnesses were able to break up the fight but the younger Heltons had fled the scene in a white Chevy Malibu. Morristown officers soon located that vehicle making a traffic stop. Christopher Helton told police that his father had assaulted him, but he had no apparent injuries to back up his story…unlike his father. Both younger Heltons were taken into custody charged with aggravated assault.
