Morristown Police Investigating Death of 55 Year Old Woman

Morristown investigators are looking into the death of a 55 year old woman. Police were dispatched on Tuesday afternoon to an apartment on Ridgelawn Avenue. When police arrived they found a woman named Tember Easton giving CPR to 55 year old Cynthia Lawson who was non responsive. An officer took over performing CPR until EMS arrived. An officer noticed a substance in one of the victim’s nostrils that another individual on scene stated was roxycodone. That person, 37 year old Matthew Jarnigan told police that he had come by that afternoon to check on Ms. Lawson but did not get an answer, so knowing that she always kept a window unlocked on the west side of her apartment, he made entry that way and found her unresponsive. Cynthis Lawson was transported via EMS to the Morristown Hamblen hospital where she was pronounced dead.
