Morristown Police Respond To Shots Fired
Police in Morristown Tue. Night responded to a shots fired call at Civic Park on Sulphur Springs Road not far from Morris Blvd. Officers were told two cars fled the scene in opposite directions, Police found four 9mm shell casings and ten .223 caliber casings at the park. There was also damage to parking lot cables and the post they are attached to. Officers said it looked like a vehicle had driven through the cables. Witnesses told police that a burnt orange or red four door sedan with front end damage was seen turning onto Sulphur Springs Road. Later Morristown police received a tip that a vehicle matching the black car’s description was seen on Shields Ferry Road in Morristown driving real slow. Officers quickly saturated that area and spotted the vehicle a black Dodge Dart. Officers made a high risk stop and were able to place the driver, 33 year old Brandon Lee Williams into custody. Williams was transported to the Morristown Police Department for questioning. He is being charged for now with discharging a firearm in the city limits and driving on a revoked license. Police are still investigating that shooting and are looking for the other vehicle involved.
