NUB Gives Approval For NU Connect Rate Increase

If you have Newport Utilities NU Connect for TV service, your rates will be going up a little in the new year. Yesterday at the Newport Utility Board’s monthly meeting, the board gave the approval for a rate increase on both the standard and enhanced packages of programming. The basic package rate will remain the same. NU Connect has not had a price increase on their packages since its launch in 2018. The current rate subscribers pay for the standard package of programming is 74.95 and the new rate will be $78.70. The Enhanced package rate will increase from $89.95 to $94.70. Retransmission fees…the fee that NU Connect has to charge for re-broadcast of local channels is going up as well, by $2.90 a month…adding $27.65 to your package cost. That fee has been increased every year.
