Petco Love Invests In Newport Animal Shelter
The city of Newport’s Animal Control has received a large donation. The Animal Control Department has been the recipient of a $10,000 investment from Petco Love. That’s a national non-profit that works with the Petco retail stores to help animal adoptions across the country. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $350 million in adoption and lifesaving efforts for pets. So far, with the help of over 4,000 organizations they work with, Petco Love has had a hand in getting 6.7 million pets adopted into loving homes. Petco Love’s president, Susanne Kogut says that their investment into the Newport Animal Control is part of a recent $15 million investment across the country. Lisa Layman, the director of operations for the Newport Animal Control says the $10,000 investment from Petco Love will be put to help cover the expense of daily operations and their lifesaving work for animals in Newport.
