Reward Offered For Info On Illegal Elk Shooting In Claiborne County
The TWRA says a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of an individual who shot an elk in Claiborne County last month. A hunter reported finding the downed elk on New Years Eve in the Valley Creek area of the Ed Carter Unit of the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. The elk was taken to the UT College of Veterinary Medicine where a necropsy was performed which confirmed the animal had been shot…the bullet was recovered. Several foundations have banded together and are offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible for the elk’s death. Elk hunting is strictly regulated in the state of Tennessee. More information on elk hunting can be found at https://www.tn.gov/twra/hunting/big-game/elk.html
