Sales Tax Holiday Begins Today

The sales tax holiday weekend in Tennessee starts today. Now through Sunday night, school supplies, clothing and computers are tax free in the state of Tennessee. School starts back up Monday in Cocke County, so many people will be taking advantage of the sales tax holiday this weekend.

Starting Monday, Tennessee begins an entire month of a grocery sales tax holiday. Throughout the month of August there will be no tax on unprepared food and food ingredients. Keep in mind, prepared foods at a restaurant will still be taxed. This is just for grocery items you get at the store.
A sales tax holiday on gun safes and gun safety devices began on July 1st. That sales tax holiday continues till June 30th of next year.
