Scammers Are Targeting Businesses

We’ve been having lots of stories of people being the victim of a scam. Now a company in Morristown is finding out that it’s not just individuals who can be victims. Last week, Southeast Industrial Construction says they received notification from one of their vendors, Titan Spray Foam, that their banking information had changed. Southeast entered the new banking information into their system and sent a payment to Titan spray Foam, of $55,540. Earlier this week, Titan Spray Foam notified Southeast they had not yet received the payment. It was then discovered that Titan had not changed any banking information. The correspondence Southeast got was fake and they had been scammed out of over $55,000. That case is currently under investigation.
