Search Continues For Missing Hawkins County Girl

The search is continuing for Summer Wells in Hawkins County. She is the little 5 year old girl that went missing from her home Tuesday night. She was last seen walking near her home on Ben Hill Road in the Beech Creek area of the county. The TBI upgraded their endangered child alert to an Amber Alert on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities are searching the areas near the home. Complicating the search is the terrain, which is heavily wooded and to make it worse there is not much cell service in that area. The search is being done by land and air as a TBI helicopter was utilized yesterday afternoon and evening. The Hawkins county sheriff says that the family is cooperating in the search but were evasive when asked whether there were any issues within the home….however the sheriff said it is too early to suspect foul play. Summer Wells is 3 feet tall….40 pounds with blonde hair and she was barefoot wearing a pink shirt and gray shorts.
