Search Continues In Remote Area Of Cocke County For Missing Woman

Authorities from the Gatlinburg Police Department, TBI, Cocke County Sheriff’s Office, Cocke County Emergency Management and Grassy Fork Fire Department conducted a search of a remote area of Cocke County yesterday. They were looking for a Gatlinburg woman who has been missing since Sunday evening. Claudene Whaley, who is 76, is a white female 5’ 1” tall weighing 150 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes. Whaley had been thought to possibly be in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park but on Wednesday evening her vehicle, a 2007 white Toyota Highlander was found in the Grassy Fork area of Cocke County on Gulf Road…that is near the Snowbird Mountain area. Officials searched that area yesterday but did not locate Ms. Whaley.
