Shoplifting Call Leads To Arrest Of Wanted Criminal
A call about shoplifters led to the arrest of a wanted criminal Tuesday evening in Newport. Police were called to the Time-Out Travel Center on West Hwy 25/70 about two men shoplifting. Employees pointed out two men sitting at a gas pump in a silver Honda Accord. That car then pulled out onto the highway where it was promptly pulled over as a rainbow tag cover was obscuring the view of the license place expiration stickers. Inside the vehicle were the driver Dakota Harris and a passenger 29 year old Zachary Strom. Dispatch relayed that Strom was wanted out of Knox County for aggravated robbery…he was also wanted by US Marshal’s for probation violation. Strom was taken into custody without incident.
