Spring Into Summer Reading Festival Returns This Weekend
The Cocke County Cradle to Career Coalition, better known as C5, has announced the return of the Spring Into Summer Reading Festival. The event is free and is designed to promote children and their familes to read together and to make reading fun.
Local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and community groups will be hosting booths featuring literacy-themed crafts, games and interactive activities. Also, there will be Kiwanis train rides, and special appearances by characters like Pete the Cat and Bluey, who will be available for pictures.
The Spring Into Summer Reading Festival is this Saturday, May 10, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Cocke County High School football field. The festival is hosted by the Cocke County C5 and Save the Children. If you or your business or organization would like to set up a booth and support local literacy, contact Jennifer Ellison with the C5 at 423-608-2845 or you can e-mail her at jellison@cockecountyc5.org.
