Tennessee’s Attorney General Wins National Award
Tennessee’s Attorney General is getting national recognition. Earlier this week The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), a nonpartisan national forum for America’s state and territory attorneys general, presented Tennessee’s Attorney General Herbert Slatery with the Kelley-Wyman Award in Washington, DC. The Kelly-Wyman award is a big deal… the prestigious honor is given out annually to the attorney general who has done the most to advance the objectives of the Association. A bipartisan panel of attorneys general selects the recipient of the award each year.
This year, In 2021, Slatery led nationwide, bipartisan coalitions of attorneys general that brought about an historic $26 billion opioids settlement announced in July…and he is one of several attorneys general leading actions against tech platforms like Google and Facebook. Plus, Slatery has also been one of the leaders states’ fights against the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate.
