The Vols Head To Omaha!
The Tennessee Vols blasted their way to the College World Series last night in Knoxville. A total of seven home runs propelled Tennessee past the Evansville Aces and punched their ticket to Omaha. The seven bombs were highlighted by Billy Amick’s 448 foot blast to straightaway center. Final score was 12 as the Vols notched their 40th win at home this season. The Aces had forced a game three in that Super Regional Series with a win in game 2 on Saturday. This is the Vols seventh trip overall to the College World Series. This is their third appearance in four years under coach Tony Vittello. The Vols go into the College World Series with a 55-12 record. The SEC is dominating the College World Series with half of the eight teams being from the SEC. In addition to Tennessee is Florida, Kentucky and Texas A&M. The College World Series begins on Friday.
