TN Turbo Tax Settlement

If you use Turbo Tax to do your taxes, you may be getting a little money later this month…emphasis on little. A recent $141 million settlement found that Intuit, the parent company for Turbo Tax, relied on deceptive tactics to steer low-income tax filers away from federally supported free tax services and into a product that charged a fee to file tax returns. This affects about 4.4 million consumers across the country. In Tennessee, a portion of that settlement money, about $3.7 million will be distributed among about 120,000 people. If you are eligible for part of this settlement, you will be notified via e-mail and a check will be mailed to you. There is nothing you have to do. Most of those eligible in Tennessee will receive around $29-30.
