Two Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash On I-40 In Dandridge
Two people were injured and traffic was backed up for miles on I-40 west in Jefferson County after a multi-vehicle accident late Wednesday afternoon. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a tractor trailer blew out a tire near MM 419. That blown out tire then hit an SUV, which then crashed into another truck that was hauling cars. That truck then ran into a concrete wall and guard rail. The trailer hauling three cars detached and rolled down an embankment, finally coming to rest on a road below the interstate.
The two people traveling in the SUV were hurt. Traffic was backed up for several miles on I-40 west, which also led to a backup on I-81 south.
