UT Ranks #5 In Final Poll

The AP released their final Top 25 College Basketball poll on Tuesday. For the second year in a row, the Vols finish ranked #5 in the nation. Tennessee was one of just four teams to remain in the top 12 for the entire 2024-25 season. Alabama, Auburn and Duke were the other three. Tennessee spent five weeks at number one in the top 25 poll earlier this year.

Tennessee’s season ended in the elite eight with a loss to eventual runner-up Houston. The Vols finished with a record of 30-8.

Other SEC teams in the final top 25 poll…Florida of course is at number one after winning the national championship; Auburn sitting at #4 and Alabama at #6 surround Tennessee at 5. Kentucky finished 12th. Finally, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Arkansas were 18, 19 & 20 respectively.

Since Rick Barnes arrived at Tennessee 10 years ago, the Vols have ranked in the top 10 of college basketball 76 times.

On Monday, The Tennessee Lady Vols finished at #15 in the final women’s college basketball poll.
