Warrants Issued For Bybee Man
Arrest warrants have been issued for a Bybee man after he tried to run over another man. The incident happened Monday at a home on Marshall Hollow Road in Parrottsville. William Kropf told a Cocke County deputy that Matthew Hyatt had come speeding into his driveway and Kropf had come out to see what was wrong. He then stated that Hyatt put his truck in reverse and tried to run him over. Kropff stated that he was able to jump out of the way and fired a shot from his Ruger .380 handgun. Kropff was unsure if the round had struck the vehicle or not. Deputy Joshua Boyce noticed skid marks in the road and driveway and saw where Hyatt’s truck had struck Kropf’s vehicle sitting in the driveway, which caused damage to the driver’s side and busted out the back windshield. Warrants have now been issued for Matthew Hyatt for aggravated assault and vandalism.
William Kropf was found to have an outstanding warrant in Blount County. He was taken into custody but on the way to the Cocke County jail, began to pass in and out of consciousness leading Deputy Boyce to pull over and call for EMS. Blount County authorities then contacted Cocke County and asked that Kropf be released from custody due to the medical condition he was having. Kropf was released and returned back to his home.
