Would Be Thieves Attempt Break In At Wilton Springs Hardware
A well known business was the victinm of burglary last week. Late Thursday night around 11:30pm, the Cocke County Sheriff’s office was notified of a burglar alrm at Wilton Springs Hardware. When deputies arrived they found the fornt door glass had been broken out. A half cinder block was found nearby that is believed to be what would be thieves used to break the glass. Deputies also observed five damaged security cameras.
Mitchell Webb, the owner of Wilton Springs Hardware arrived on scene and let deputies into the store. Webb checked the store’s security system and video footage showed a dark colored pick-up truck arrive at the business at 11:19pm and two suspects with masks then tried to enter the business. They damaged both the door and cameras before leaving. Webb believes the would be thieves did not enter the business.
