Man Wanted In Florida Arrested In Jefferson County

A man wanted in Florida for sexual abuse of a child was arrested Thursday in Jefferson County. The US Marshall’s Office in Greeneville was notified the Eleazer Briones-Vega, wanted in Sarasota County , Florida was in the East Tennessee area. Briones-Vega, who is not a legal resident of the US, was located and arrested in White Pine on Thursday. Briones-Vega is accused of committing sexually abusive acts upon a minor less than 10 years of age for a period of three years. Police in Florida say that when an investigation began into the allegations, Briones-Vega left the state. He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Detention Center in Dandridge.
