Wreaths Across America Bringing Mobile Exhibit To Newport
Something special is coming to Newport this weekend. Wreaths Across America is an organization that aims to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect freedom and to honor those who are currently serving. Back in 1992, the Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine had a surplus of wreaths at the end of the year and made arrangements to have those trucked to Arlington National Cemetery to be placed on the graves of those who had fallen in the service to their country. That began an annual tradition that has become the organization Wreaths Acorss America.
This Friday and Saturday, May 29 & 30, the Wreaths Across America Mobile Exhibit will be in Newport at Food City West. The 48 foot exhibit features a 24 person screening room that showcaes the mission of WAA. At the front of the exhibit are three interactive computers plus an education wall of information on the different areas of Wreaths Across America and where that mission is heafding in the years to come. Wreaths Across America has the mobile exhibit to teach the next generation about service and sacrifice for their country and to share stories of patriotism and love of country.
The Wreaths Across America Mobile Exhibit will be open to the public from 10am-6pm both days.
