Two Men Arrested In Cocke County For Selling Heroin

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office served a warrant on a known local drug dealer on east Hwy 25-70 Tuesday morning. The road was closed for a short time while deputies and narcotics officers completed that sting. 64 year old James Shelton of Del Rio was arrested as he was in possession of 3 ounces of heroin. Shelton, was arrested for sale and delivery of schedule I and II narcotics…plus being a convicted felon in possession of firearms. Arrested along with Shelton was 32 year old Christopher Mayes of Talbott…he is being charged with sale and delivery of schedule I & II narcotics, plus probation violation. Both men were transported to the Cocke County jail.
