JSCO Begins Operation Spring Clean
If you will be driving in Jefferson County, be on the lookout for crews picking up litter and trash along the counties’ roadways. The Jefferson County sheriff’s office is starting an anti-littering campaign this week. A deputy will be supervising inmates making up a litter crew will be removing trash from area roadways in Jefferson County. According to the Jefferson County sheriff’s department, last year the inmate crew picked up 95,000 pounds of trash from Jefferson County roadways. Anyone caught littering will be cited. Operation Spring Clean will include Interstate 40 & Interstate 81 as well as other main roads like US Hwy 25/70, US Hwy 25E and US 411.
