Arrington Wanted For Aggravated Domestic Assault

A woman showed up at the Newport Police office Tuesday evening saying she was afraid to go home. Officers had been at her residence around 2:30 am Tuesday morning after the woman and her boyfriend, 41 year old Don Arrington had gotten into an argument and he had threatened her and her children. Arrington was transported to the Motel 6 in Newport where he could spend the night. However, the victim stated that Arrington returned to the home and retrieved an AR-15 rifle from the closet and threatened to harm the victim and her children if she called the police again. Arrington then fell asleep on the couch clutching the rifle. The victim and her children were able to quietly leave the home, but she told police she had been driving around all day scared to return home. Police escorted her to her home and made sure it was safe for her to return. A warrant for aggravated domestic assault has been issued for Don Arrington.
