Woman Arrested Claims That People Were In The Ceiling

Newport police were called to the Econo Lodge on west Hwy 25-70 about two unwanted people in the hotel lobby who would not leave. Police found a female subject…30 year old Christian Ball, who told the officer that she was hearing voices and there were people in the ceiling that were going to get her. There was also the male subject, 31 year old Matthew Lyons who told officers that he was paranoid and believed people were hiding in his room and sneaking in and out of the window…a window which does not open. Both Ball and Lyons were taken into custody and charged with public intoxication. In Lyons’ motel room he had been kicked out of, officers found an orange powder that was confirmed to be ground up suboxone.
